WIDEN - Can you help?

Widows Empowerment Network, (WIDEN), is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, which was formed in response to the yearnings and plights of Nigerian Widows. Because of our socio-cultural and patrichial background, majority of Nigerian Widows live in abject poverty and penury because their kinsmen often deprive them of their husband’s properties. The situation is made worse when these widows refuse to marry their husband’s kinsmen. WIDEN looks at widowhood in its totality, health, socio-economic, political, etc. It also advises widows on the prevention of HIV/AIDS virus. Conscious of the fact that women and their children are usually the worse victims of conflicts, WIDEN engages in conflict management, prevention and resolution, and is thus poised to restore, preserve and maintain the pride of womanhood in widowhood.
GRACE ASUQUO Executive Director Widows Empowerment Network (WIDEN)

WIDEN is looking for help in this task and would appreciate assistance in the area of equipment - computers, typewriters, etc.
WIDEN Secretariat is located at #12 Ekpo Abasi Street, Calabar. Cross River State. Nigeria, West Africa. P.O.Box 3124, Calabar.
